Thanks for Giving!

This week has always been – and remains – one that I look forward to with tremendous excitement!

For me and so many fortunate others, Thanksgiving is about family. Of course, we are all gathered for a feast, but it really is a day to get together with loved ones, laugh, recall warm stories of Thanksgivings past and for wonderful memories of those no longer with us.

There are few things better than the aroma of the turkey nearing perfection in the oven, the laughter from storytelling coming from the living room, watching the Lions on television and looking at the beautiful, smiling faces of those gathered around you.

And at our house, it extends for a few more days as we watch countless high school state championship football games and college football games while polishing off more than a few turkey sandwiches (with gravy, of course) and tall, ice cold glasses of milk!

While I try to make every day one of thanksgiving, this truly is a day – and weekend – of giving thanks for so many blessings received.

Thanksgiving became even more meaningful after I became director of CATCH.

This charity could not have become this successful over the years without the enthusiastic and generous support of an incredible roster of Trustees, Corporate Sponsors, Volunteers, Donors, Athletes, members of the Media and so many more amazing partnerships. I simply cannot thank ALL of you enough for ALL you have done over the years.

So, as we gather with our loved ones this week, I extend wishes from my family to yours for a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving.

And one more time…Thanks for Giving!!
