Each year, CATCH organizes a series of special events – widely recognized as the best of its kind – to raise funds to support its mission. In addition to attracting some of the region’s leading businesses and corporations, CATCH events are attended by a variety of sports, media and business personalities.

The Detroit News/CATCH Outstanding High School Graduate Awards Program

Each May, The Detroit News partners with CATCH to recognize the extraordinary accomplishments of 24 Michigan High School seniors in a variety of academic categories. Participating sponsors provide financial support for CATCH and the student in the form of scholarship assistance named after the sponsor.

A prelude to CATCH’s annual Golf Classic the following day, the Prelude Party features a strolling dinner, an auction of coveted sports memorabilia and resort and golf getaways, and a chance to mix and mingle with a variety of Detroit’s popular leaders and personalities. Tickets for the Prelude Party are included in all Golf Sponsor packages, or individually for $100 each.

The CATCH Golf Classic, twice-voted “Michigan’s Best,” is supported and attended by top executives and sports and media luminaries. The Golf Classic features a scramble format with the option of a celebrity golfer in each group (fivesome) with shotgun starts at 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sponsorships, which include a fivesome and Prelude Party tickets, range from $3,000 to $35,000.

Featuring CATCH Hall of Fame Induction for 2018 Honorees Gretchen & Ethan Davidson, Kelle & Chris Ilitch and Elise & Golden Tate plus, presentation of the Dr. Clarence S. Livingood Humanitarian Award to Mary Smyth, M.D. 

 

This popular and highly attended sit-down dinner annually features the CATCH Hall of Fame induction ceremony for community leaders in recognition of their charity work. It also features a live auction including a week in a luxury villa on St. Barth, three nights at Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas, tickets for Hamilton, two nights at the Masco Cottage at Grand Hotel for eight people and suites for Detroit sporting events.

Reception begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and the Live Auction & Program at 8 p.m. Table(s) of 10 are included in all Sponsor packages. Individual tickets are $175 each.

Third Party Events

CATCH encourages and welcomes businesses, corporations and organizations to donate proceeds from their own special events/activities to CATCH. Over the years, a variety of events have been independently organized and staged to benefit CATCH. Examples include office “blue jean” days, sports-themed dress-up days, Michigan-Michigan State days, tin can raffles, golf outings and bowling nights.
