In the spring of 1987, Sparky Anderson came up with the idea of starting a charity that would make an immediate impact on the lives of pediatric patients at Children’s Hospital of Michigan and Henry Ford Hospital. This year, we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of that vision! If the former Detroit Tigers and Hall of Fame Baseball Manager were still alive today, he would be overwhelmed by the support this charity has received and the number of children and families who have benefited over the years. Since its founding, CATCH has provided more than $6.5 million worth of items and services for patients and their families at these two hospitals, and has grown its board-designated endowment fund to nearly $10 million so that future generations of children will benefit.

CATCH’s major fund-raising events for the year have been set, including the popular CATCH Golf Classic on Monday, July 17 at the NEW Meadowbrook Country Club in Northville and the CATCH Golf Prelude Party & Auction on Sunday, July 16 at MGM Grand Detroit. While the Golf Classic is another sellout, there are opportunities to attend the Prelude Party, which includes food and beverage stations, raffles, silent & live auctions, photo opportunities and a chance to mingle with a variety of local sports, media and business personalities.
