Meadowbrook Country Club’s Classy Centennial
Tuesday, August 30, 2016Members of Meadowbrook Country Club in Northville did a pretty amazing thing this year as the club celebrated the 100th Anniversary of its founding.
As part of its Centennial Celebration, club leaders challenged their members to make donations with the goal of collectively raising $100,000 for four local non-profit organizations. CATCH was honored to be one of those selected along with Angela Hospice, Main Street League and Bridgepoint.
Sounded like a pretty tall order. But Meadowbrook Country Club members not only reached their target, they literally blew it away as they raised more than $145,000 for charity. And they did it during a year when the golf course was totally shut down for a course renovation.
Following dinner at the Club’s Centennial Gala in August – where representatives of the benefiting charities were invited as guests – the Centennial Committee presented ceremonial checks to each charity.
It was quite a special night. But not nearly as special as the members of Meadowbrook Country Club!
